Senior Business Development Director/Leader

Location: Beijing/Shanghai or other tier one city

The key focus of the role would include

Achieve and exceed an annual new business sales target for our fast growth global solution, Global Benefits Management.

As Senior Business Development Professional you will be the lead on sales to large, complex, multinational organizations across China. Managing the sales cycle end-to-end, you will be the client sales lead, generating opportunities from existing and new clients across MMC, developing the sales strategy, overall responsibility for RFPs, sales presentations and formal sales proposals for related target accounts

Experience skills & attributes

·         Strategizes account expansion initiatives, directing and conducting thorough research through various channels of information

·         Targeting specific accounts leveraging a large professional network to proactively generate growth within an area of specialization

·         Work with Senior Client Managers across MMC to identify target clients and set the sales strategy

·         Oversee the long sales cycle and sales process for complex multinationals to ensure successful conclusion through to contract close.

·         Evaluates existing books of business, leverages internal contacts, internal product developments and market developments to identify areas of opportunity and expansion for existing accounts

·         Leverages an advanced awareness and understanding of client needs and internal service offerings to deliver the whole firm to accounts and clients and facilitate relationships to diversify account involvement and maximize value

·         Organizes, attends, speaks and presents at relevant industry conferences, and is a prominent, contributing member of relevant professional organizations and societies to expand and maintain a large professional network, gain exposure and represent the Company and its offerings

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor degree or above

·         Above 10 years of sales experience in HR, Consulting or insurance/broking industry

·         Strong communication skills when liaising with senior managers and other stakeholders

·         Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt your communication style dependent on the needs of the audience

·         Demonstrated experience in solution selling

·         Sales achievement focus

·         Negotiation and influencing skills both internally and externally

·         Ability to work across the business in partnership with internal stakeholders

·         Ability to work autonomously to achieve set results

·         Ability to tailor Mercer’s message to reflect clients’ requirements

·         Ability to work with regional and global team and cross different business lines
